Lemon RX continues to impress us with the development of their excellent receivers. Having a low-cost alternative to Spektrum®, while still being compatible with DSMX® has been great. And Lemon RX have always impressed us with their reliability and excellent stabilization. Over the years they have been working at making their setup and programming easier, and I have now gotten used to selecting the flashing lights during setup and find that quite easy. But now they have gone a step further with their Gen 2 receivers, allowing you to do most of the programming through your transmitter. And the transmitter can be one from Spektrum® or even one with Edge TX, such as Radiomaster.

Hi Jim, are there any updated instructions for sensor calibration with the latest Lemon Text Gen receivers? I’ve been using Lemon Rx’s for many years and particularly like the ability to measure mAh consumed (essential in my power hungry EDF’s). I have no problem calibrating the sensors with my LM0051/52’s and Gen 2 receivers. However, after calibrating a sensor with a Text Gen Rx, the V and I displays are correct and the mAh reading on my Spektrum Tx increments as expected – that is until …”Exit and Save”…then the mAh reading resets to “0”. The only way I can get a mAh reading is to have the Rx in “Set up mode”. I’ve tried different receivers, all with the same result. There is little discussion online that refers to sensor calibration, and despite following all the published instruction, I feel I’m missing something. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Chris, Lemon RX has shared with me that there is a bug in their current firmware with regard to this. They are working on a fix, and will soon release updated firmware to take care of it. Hi Jim, thanks for that information – I did email Lemon to ask them to confirm there was a bug stopping the transfer of mAh data – so far no reply !
The main UK importer here in the UK got this reply from Frederick at Lemon – “It’s not a fault, we have updated the website at the latest unit upgraded to TEXTGEN doesn’t have mAh. Potentially some customers aren’t happy, and we will have to update that feature that later!”
Not great English, but I read that as saying the latest text Gen Rx’s are no longer able to record/transmit mAh data. Shame, everyone at my club that uses telemetry in their electric models wants to know mAh consumed ! Instantaneous V and I is of little use !!

Sorry for the delayed reply. Yes, it is true that the present LemonRX receivers do not provide mAh data in telemetry. We should be able to have it calculated. I’ve been playing around with using an “Added” telemetry value that can perform a calculation. I’ve also been looking for a LUA script that would create one for us. In the meantime, displaying the voltage is really what’s needed to know that you have enough power to keep on flying. As you may have seen in my battery testing video, batteries vary a lot in terms of how many mAh they actually can deliver as compared to what they say on the side of the battery!
