Fixing radio controlled aircraft

If you enjoy flying RC planes, then more than likely they will need fixing from time to time.

My dad was a crew chief with the USMC during World War II. He and his crew focused their lives on keeping a SBD Dauntless dive bomber flying, hopefully bringing the pilot back safely. Fortunately, the stakes are not that high for us RC plane flyers, but none-the-less, unfortunate things will happen, and it’s good to know how to work through them.

For some of us, the matter of fixing planes also has a very bright spot. Naturally, we are quite deflated when our plane is damaged. Usually we will be kicking ourself, asking why we did whatever dumb thing contributed to the incident. But soon we have the pieces on the workbench, and we realise, we can get it in the air again!

There’s a huge amount of satisfaction in bringing about restoration. That has been the focus of my life in many ways. One of them has to do with my planes. So, while I’m constantly learning to improve my flying, I’m also learning about fixing. Many of the videos on my channel share those lessons and experiences.
