Slowing down control movements in EdgeTX

I love my Radiomaster TX16s, but while it is fantastic to do everything apart from buttering my toast, every once in a while I come up with a challenge that is frustrating. This week it has been the matter of getting my dive flaps working the way I want on my SBD Dauntless dive bomber.

What I was after was being able to use the center dive flap separately from the main dive brakes, should I want to use it to slow down the plane when landing. But I still wanted it to deploy when operating the main dive brakes without having to flip two switches. And, I wanted them to move slowly when being deployed.

My initial solution did everything well, except that when deploying the main dive brakes, the center flap moved instantly, not slowly. When operating it separately with its own switch, it had the nice slow movement that I wanted.

The article below and the associated video (when completed) goes through both the simple way to slow down something like a flap, then it goes into the complex matter of sorting out the problem that I had with the Dauntless. It’s all about avoiding having a “Switch” included in the bottom part of a Mix, but I’m getting ahead of myself. Read the article!
